With August and September behind us, the majority of the new and returning series for the fall television season have already made their debuts.

But October is still chock full of premieres of old favorites and new series looking to find an audience.

The CW network is premiering a handful of shows this month, including the return of "The Vampire Diaries" on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 8 p.m., and the new "College Edition" of long-running reality show "America's Next Top Model" on Oct. 19 at 8 p.m.

October is typically known as the most spooky month, which makes the return of Ryan Murphy's horror anthology "American Horror Story" appropriate. The show will return to FX on Oct. 17 with a new "asylum" theme. Some actors from the show's first season, including Emmy winner Jessica Lange, will be back for season two, but the characters and setting will be completely reset for a totally new storyline.

ABC will also premiere the latest seasons of two returning series: "Happy Endings" and "Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23" will return to the alphabet network on Tuesday, Oct. 23.
