There are four games taking place today in the MLB postseason, which is surprising as many had expected at least one of Tuesday night’s two games to have ended with someone being eliminated. However, results went the way of the struggling teams and those results kept all four of the five game series alive.

First up on Wednesday is the St Louis Cardinals and the Washington Nationals. The series is currently tied 1-1 with both teams desperate to win today. The game starts at 1.07 p.m. ET, and many believe the Nationals have their noses in front by being level coming into a three-match run in Washington.

The Nationals had one of the best home records in the regular season across the MLB and they have proven difficult to beat in their own back yard. Even if the Cardinals manage to take one of the games there, the odds are that the Nationals will manage to win two from three.

At 4.07 p.m. the San Francisco Giants vs Cincinnati Reds is on, with the Giants scrapping a tight victory on Tuesday night to keep the series running. The Reds smashed San Francisco over the first two games with scores of 5-2 and 9-0, but the Giants came back to win Game 3 by a score of 2-1. If the Giants can win this one again today it will go down to a winner takes all fifth game on Thursday.

At 7.37 p.m. ET the Baltimore Orioles will play the Yankees. That series currently stands at 1-1 as the teams arrive in New York for the remaining three games. This one could go all the way to the fifth game as there has been little to separate the two teams all season long, and the Orioles just don’t want to let the dream die.

At 9.37 p.m. ET on Wednesday there will be the Detroit Tigers against the Oakland Athletics. This series so far has stayed with the home team; The Tigers winning the first two games in Detroit 3-1 and 5-4, only for the Athletics to take Game 3 by a score of 2-0 when the series moved to Oakland on Tuesday night. The Athletics will be hoping that the series can continue on that trend, and another win for them today would take the series to a Thursday showdown.

"We need to bring it on Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday," Tigers catcher Gerald Laird has said. "Hopefully we don't get to those [final two] games, but we've got to bring it on Tuesday, because not even a week ago this team swept a pretty good team at home to win their division."

He added, "We know what they're capable of. We know that it's possible, because that's a good ball club and they're going to go down fighting. I like our chances, but we got to bring it."
