Borussia Dortmund has won only one of their last six matches in all competitions, with the rest either ending in a draw or a defeat. They have never beaten Real Madrid in an European competition but Bleacher Report predicted that Real Madrid will have difficulty on the defensive front, with Marcelo, Alvaro Arbeloa and Fabio Coentrao all injured.

The match will be played in Signal-Iduna-Park and with a home game, Borussia Dortmund will have the stands in their favor. However, Real Madrid are nine-time European Cup winners so do not expect them to give up easily, especially since they won five of their last six matches across all competitions. The Spaniards also welcomed back Sami Khedira, after he missed his team's victory over Celta Vigo because of a leg injury, according to Goal.com. The report also added that Alvaro Arbeloa, Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao are still sidelined, so Sergio Ramos and Michael Essien will remain the team's right and left-back.
