There's been a lot of speculation recently that a fan favorite character will make another return to The Bold and the Beautiful in the coming months.

Rumors have been swirling that Kim Matula would reprise her role as Hope Logan once again, though the reasons for a return may no longer be valid.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, following Aly's (Ashlyn Pearce) shocking death, it seemed only natural that Hope would come back for her protégé and biggest fan's funeral. However, Aly's memorial has since come and gone, and Hope was nowhere to be seen. But, it may not keep the rumor mill from churning out potential reasons for the character's return to Los Angeles.

One of the more notable events to happen since Aly's death has been Liam (Scott Clifton) finally making his choice between Ivy (Ashleigh Brewer) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood)--where he unsurprisingly decided to reunite with his ex-wife. And despite Ivy having evidence that Steffy played a direct role in Aly's death that could bury her and ruin her romance with Liam, she isn't using it and doesn't appear to be much of a foil for her now ex-beau, as she has already started moving on from him with his brother, Wyatt (Darin Brooks).

However, it is unlike B&B's writers to have Liam with a woman for long before a new enemy is introduced into the equation to make the romance into a complicated triangle. Hope and Steffy fought over his affections for a long time before Steffy left for Paris. However, the reunion with Hope was very short-lived, as Wyatt then came into the picture and caused Hope to be confused about which brother she wanted to be with. After she officially chose Wyatt because she was carrying his baby, Liam started to move on with Ivy. Their romance encountered a roadblock with Steffy once before, which saw Liam choosing Ivy, and is now over.

Following with tradition, it would only make sense for someone else to come into the picture again and cause problems for Liam and Steffy's romance-and Hope would be the perfect person to do that.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs Monday-Friday at 1:30 p.m.
