He has covered for her after discovering her kneeling over Silas' dead body with the bloody knife in her hand, but Nina (Michelle Stafford) will begin to worry about how far Franco (Roger Howarth) will go in order to protect her from becoming a suspect in the case on General Hospital.

The Truth Avout Ava Is Revealed

Nina discovered Silas' body and actually hadn't been the one to stab him, but Franco knew that she would quickly be arrested if her potential motives -- learning Silas had been the one to kidnap Avery and letting Nina believe she had -- were exposed, let alone if she was discovered at the crime scene. As such he got her back to Shady Brook and cleaned up the crime scene, only to then be arrested for it himself when Kiki (Hayley Erin) walked in.

Now, after Franco put all the pieces together and realized Ava (Maura West) was the likely culprit of the crime, she turned the tables around on him and produced a photo of Nina with the knife that she snapped on her phone, telling Franco that if he didn't want the photo to wind up with the police he would need to find some way to get the recording of her confessing to Connie's murder.

More Suspects Emerge In Silas' Murder

Now, Nina will begin to worry he is going to far to keep her safe.

"What power does Ava Jerome have over you now?" Nina asks Franco in a preview clip for the Wednesday, Aug. 12 episode.

Meanwhile, Franco will have an ally in Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) -- who will begin doing whatever she can to rescue Franco and get him out of police custody.

"We need to have words about Franco," she says in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
