"ICYMI... #The100 Season 3 will be delivering 16 EPISODES of pain (hopefully some pleasure too)," series creator Jason Rothenberg teased on Wednesday.

The original announcement was handed down on Tuesday at The CW's Television Critics Association summer press tour panel. At the same time, CW president Mark Pedowitz also teased the series' premiere date.

Set to air in 2016, it appears The 100 will take advantage of another series' midseason break.

"We have thought about it. We know exactly what we're going to do. We kind of have a rough idea of when we're going to launch Legends of Tomorrow and Containment and 100, but we know that certain shows, they have to take breaks in between," Pedowitz said, according to IGN. "We pretty much know how the schedule's going to play itself out, give or take."
