Lady Mary is about to face some complications as Downton Abbey comes to a close.

'Downton Abbey' Will Have 'Best Possible Ending'

On Thursday, TV Line shared some details from Michelle Dockery (Mary) who mentioned that her character will be in "business mode." This might be a good thing since she'll have time to focus on herself and not her romantic life.

"She's taken on the role of the estate agent because Branson's left, so she's a working girl," Dockery said. "She's not really actively looking for anyone."

'Downton Abbey' Actor Says It Would Be A 'Misstep' To Let Series Continue

But this part will change when Matthew Goode returns to cause more mayhem in Mary's life.

"He comes back to her life [and] it's complicated as it always is," the actress said. "It's never plain sailing in her love life."

Meanwhile, Hugh Bonneville (Robert Crawley) recently explained via BBC how happy he is to have been part of the series and how it's a good idea to let it finish after the sixth season.

"We've been blessed by having a writer who's got a fund of stories to play with, and these characters that have been fully-formed over the last six years," Bonneville said. "To have extended it would have been, I think, a bit of a misstep."

The sixth and final season of Downton Abbey premieres in the United States on Sunday, January 3 on PBS. A Christmas episode is also expected to air this holiday season.
