Supernatural's Dean Winchester no longer bears the Mark of Cain, but that doesn't mean the murderous brand is gone for good.

Rowena (Ruth Connell) managed to reverse Cain's curse, magically wiping the Mark from Dean's (Jensen Ackles) arm while simultaneously releasing The Darkness (see video below). As season 11 opens, the Winchester bros. will have to suss out exactly where the Mark went - it would be to simple if it had simply disappeared into the ether - and if Dean is still tied to Cain's little gift.

"There are certainly some questions, some big questions, that need to be answered as far as to...what's going to happen," Ackles teased at San Diego Comic-Con, according to Buddy TV. "Whether or not it becomes some sort of interconnection because Dean did wear the Mark and now the Mark is essentially the key to whatever this was, there might be a connection, I don't know. I haven't seen it in the first four episodes, but there have been some flashes of things that Dean...some premonitions, so to speak."

Ackles, however, hopes his time with the demonic tat is at an end.

"I don't think [he will], and I hope he doesn't [still have a connection to the Mark] because I'm kind of done playing the guilt that Dean feels. I think he's over the guilt," Ackles explained.
