Michael Douglas's son was beaten while serving as an inmate in a Pennsylvania prison.

Cameron Douglas suffered a broken leg and finger when he fell after allegedly being pushed after a $100 bounty was put on him for agreeing to testify against his drug suppliers. The purported attack happened recently after the head of an unidentified criminal group in New York called Cameron a "rat" and wanted him hurt, according to Daily Mail.

His cooperation with police was accidently revealed by his psychiatrist Dr. Robert Millman during a bail hearing in 2010. Cameron talked to police about the suppliers, David and Eduardo Escalera, which is thought to have been the main reason behind the recent attack.

"He broke his femur, which is hard to snap, and had to have a rod inserted," a prison source told the New York Post. "He told health services staff that he hurt [his leg and finger] playing handball. You don't break a femur playing handball."

A doctor's aide in the prison allegedly misdiagnosed the injury, which resulted in a blood clot.

"She thought it was a sprain, so he wants to sue this woman," said the source. "He's still walking around on crutches two months later."

By helping the police, Cameron reportedly had his prison sentence reduced to five years instead of 10. The 34-year-old son of the famous actor is currently in prison in Loretto for selling crystal meth. Cameron has also been reprimanded for previously attempting to smuggle heroin into the prison. He was given an additional four-and-a-half years on his sentence in 2011 for smuggling heroin and a prescription narcotic while staying at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Pennsylvania.

No one as of yet has reportedly been punished for the attack on Cameron.

Cameron will not be eligible for release until 2018.
