Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) will soon have a baby to worry about, and the father-to-be will have to work midnight feedings around his job as the Grimm. As season 5 approaches the midseason mark, Nick will find that those duties also involve investigating some version of the mysterious lake monster.

"We're going to do the Loch Ness monster coming up," executive producer David Greenwalt announced at San Diego Comic-Con, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "We're going to explain that in the Grimm world."

Viewers won't have long to wait for the highly anticipated encounter. Nessie will make her debut in early 2016, TV Line announced on Friday.

Grimm will open season 5 in the wake of the heartbreaking events of "Cry Havoc." Nick is out for revenge, but the arrival of his son will but his vengeance on hold. It is unknown what episode the Lock Ness monster will appear in, but previously announced titles include "The Grimm Identity," "Clear and Wesen Danger," "Lost Boys, " Maiden Quest," "The Rat King," and "Wesen Nacht."
