The quickie divorce between Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert wasn't only shocking for fans, but the speed of the process also surprised the country star and The Voice coach.

In an interview on the Bobby Bones Show Wednesday, Shelton, 39, talked about how the process was finished relatively quickly, mainly because he and Lambert were able to come to an agreement quickly about how to divy up their assets.

"In Oklahoma, it happens so fast," he said. "Like, Miranda and I didn't have any kids, and we had a prenuptial agreement, whatever we had. Once we filed for divorce, it was over in, like, I think it was like a none or 10-day waiting period until it's over."

Is Blake Shelton Headed To Rehab?

The pair, who decided Lambert would keep their home in Nashville while Shelton kept his Oklahoma ranch, filed for divorce in early July, and announced the news on July 20. Hours later, it became official.

However, the pair also knew that going through things quickly and quietly would be the best thing for them because it would potentially quell some of the rumors that would circulate following the news.

"We knew if rumblings and rumors started coming out, they would just be that," Shelton said. "By the time anybody knew anything, it was over...it was done."

However, the two are still close friends who are maintaining a friendly relationship.

"Our whole thing was, we are going to be cool about this, it is what it is. We're buddies," he said.
