Zayn Malik Update 2015: Twitter Trends ‘#6MonthsWithoutZayn’ On Anniversary Of His Departure From One Direction [VIDEO]
Sept. 25, 2015 officially marks six months since Zayn Malik chose to part ways with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.
Is Zayn Malik Hinting His Solo Music Will Debut Soon?
It is still somewhat hard to wrap our heads around and we are certainly not alone. Fans took to Twitter to trend "#6MonthsWithoutZayn" and some of the tweets make it seem like the British singer's departure just happened.
The remaining One Direction members seem to be doing just fine as they've released their first Zayn-less single, "Drag Me Down" over the summer and have been cracking jokes about being down members like during their Apple Music Festival gig the other night while Horan momentarily left the stage. Basically the jokes were about them losing more members even though they're not. Some fans even thought it was too soon for those kinds of jokes.
Anyway, Malik seems to be doing great too as he embarks on his solo endeavor, but the fans are still struggling a bit.
We've compiled some of the most interesting tweets including the hashtag "#6MonthsWithoutZayn" below.
Many fans clearly wish Malik would return to the boy band, which is why it's extra heartbreaking that they're using 1D's "Half a Heart" lyrics when talking about the 6-month anniversary of Malik's exit.
And being here without you is like I’m waking up to Only half a blue sky Kinda there but not quite ... #6MonthsWithoutZayn

Other fans really want to know if Malik still speaks to Styles, Horan, Payne and Tomlinson and how frequently if they do.
i wonder when the boys had last spoken to zayn, today? yesterday? last week? a month ago? #6MonthsWithoutZayn — e e ella (@halseysthetic) September 25, 2015
Then there are fans who are livid this hashtag is even trending since it alludes to the idea that Malik is dead, which obviously isn't the case.
#6MonthsWithoutZayn Damn people he's not dead this trend is irrelevant — Krista (@MissDelena15) September 25, 2015
One Twitter user found it even more ridiculous, comparing Malik's departure of just six months to the six decades without James Dean. Dean will be dead for 60 years come next Wednesday, Sept. 30. Malik is at least still alive.
FINE #6MonthsWithoutZayn may have been difficult for you kids but people have actually survived #6DecadesWithoutJamesDean so please breathe. — Daya Shankar (@ChinmayiBali) September 25, 2015
