While Bassett was nervous to meet Gaga at first, she admitted that the pop superstar put her mind at ease.

"First time I met her, she had a party for the cast and crew and that was a first meeting... she was in this beautiful gown that was sort of see-though and vintage and a diamond necklace... and I'm just trying to be cool. She said, 'Are you nervous? I hear you are nervous.' I said, 'Yes.' She said, 'Don't be nervous. I know about these things. I have been there.' I was like, 'Okay!'" Bassett said.

"She's the nicest person. She is warm and gracious and funny. She makes everybody feel comfortable and she's comfortable with herself. So, no one is tripping except for me," she noted.

Bassett also recalled one of their bed scenes, admitting that Gaga broke the tension in hilarious form.

"[They] said cut and I jumped and she said, 'That's the fastest anyone has jumped out of the bed with me,'" Bassett laughed.

Gaga is set to play The Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel, the owner of the Hotel Cortez. Bassett plays Ramona Royale, an actress who has a relationship with The Countess.

This will be Gaga's major television acting debut. Bassett has previously starred in Coven as Marie Laveau and Freak Show as Desiree Dupree. Bassett received Emmy nominations for both roles.

American Horror Story: Hotel premieres Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
