The Winchester brothers have really stepped in it this time, and even Rowena is in awe of the Darkness in a new Supernatural season 11 promo. Blood, death, and a black vein affliction is the order of the day now that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are living in a post-Mark world.

Julian Richings' Death may have succumbed to his own powers, but that won't stop Supernatural from spilling a Shining level of blood during the fall run. Looking beat up and generally downtrodden, the Winchesters will turn to God for help as their world spirals out of control.

Is Emily Swallow's new character at the heart of their problems? Fans finally get a first look at Amara, but the mysterious femme fatale isn't giving anything away. IS she really the embodiment of the Darkness?

While the latest promo is uncompromisingly serious in nature, there were a few moments that will certainly provide an ounce of levity. For one, creepy clowns are back. Sam's irrational childhood fear has tried to kill him more than once over the last ten years, and it looks like the boys will have to fight at least one carnival denizen - and possibly a "Wishful Thinking"-esque pig - before Christmas.
