The West family will get bigger by two this season on The Flash, but details about Wally and Mrs. West are decidedly hard to come by.

Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris West (Candice Patton) play major roles in Barry's (Grant Gustin) life, but despite this, little is known about their world before the death of Nora Allen. As season 2 progresses, however, viewers will dig into the mystery surrounding Mama West (Vanessa Williams) and Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale).

"People know by now that Mama West is going to be making an appearance and we have to deal with how Iris finds out about her mother," Patton informed Variety.

It is unknown if Francine West is alive or dead, but considering Joe still wears a wedding ring, many viewers believe Mrs. West will turn up in flashbacks.

"There's a lot of family strain in the West house," Patton teased. "It's a lot of new information and a lot for Iris to process, but it makes for really good TV."

DC is keeping Wally West's appearance under even tighter wraps, if that is even possible. Canonically Iris' nephew, Kid Flash will come to Central City later this season.

"I know nothing about the Wally West storyline, I haven't even seen him on set yet, so I think we're just about to get into that," Patton explained. "Everything around Wally is very hush-hush, so I think that's the storyline that I'm most excited about this season."
