Fox's Bones plans on bringing back some of the spark between Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) in season 11.

What's Next For Cam & Arastoo On 'Bones'?

This year, Brennan and Booth will have an easier time as a couple compared to the heavy storylines of season 10. But they're going to have that "fire" again which made the early seasons so magnetic.

Bones co-showrunner Michael Peterson spoke with TVLine recently about Brennan and Booth's relationship in season 11.

Will the 'Bones' - 'Sleepy Hollow' Crossover Lead to a Death in the FBI?

"It's happier in the bigger sense of we're not doing the gambling, getting-kicked-out-of-the-house [story] - at least not yet," Peterson said, of their season 11 story arc. "But what we're doing is making sure that they still have the fire. It is the reason why we watch them. We love to see them going back and forth at each other. A lot of shows have the problem of once somebody gets married, the banter gets a little stale. They're a little too nice and too sweet with each other."

Deschanel and Boreanaz spoke to the showrunners about the fire of those early seasons and wanting to "bring some of that back" in season 11.

"So we've got a really fun storyline that brings that to the fore in the Betty White story, which is Episode 4. We really do want to embrace, 'Yeah, we're married, but we are not boring, and we're going to go at it,'" Peterson said.

Brennan and Booth's relationship has continued to blossom through 11 seasons of Bones. It should be fun to see them in a much happier place going forward, while also still having the same repartee we know and love.

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
