Yorik Brown and Ampersand are the only male creatures left alive, and they're coming to FX.

'The Flash' Season 2: Can Cisco Learn To Control His Powers? EP Teases Frightening Evolution

The human and his capuchin pal were the driving force of Brian K. Vaughan's acclaimed graphic novel, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the protagonists of Y: The Last Man will soon find their way to the small screen.

Developed by Vaughan in collaboration with Color Force's Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, the comic will finally jump off Vertigo's pages after a series of false starts in the film arena. First published in 2002, the post-apocalyptic tale of the titular last man eventually expanded to fill 60 issues.

'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 3: Simmons Wants To Go Where?! Get The Scoop On That Shocking Reveal

Y: The Last Man is set in the wake of a sudden and devastating plague that kills of every male mammal on Earth. From humans to dolphins, everything and everyone with a Y chromosome is gone - all except for an amateur escape artist and his monkey. Under the protection of the Culper Ring's Agent 355, Yorik and Ampersand must travel across the country to meet with the geneticist Dr. Allison Mann in order to find out exactly why they haven't perished like the rest of their gender.

Unfortunately, there are plenty of nefarious forces that would like to see Yorik dead...or worse.

FX has yet to officially announce the project.
