The wait for The 100 is nearing an end.

'The 100' Season 3: 'Batsh-t Insane' Episode Filming, Jason Rothenberg Explains

The CW has yet to announce a premiere date for the post-apocalyptic drama's third season, and fans are beginning to get a little antsy. Series creator and writers, however, are doing their best to keep communication open.

"We do not have an official air date yet. All we can say is that Season 3 will be coming to your viewing devices 'early 2016,'" writer Aaron Ginsburg updated fans on Friday. "Now, have you heard the old saying, "Good things come to those who wait"? Yeah, me neither. This totally sucks! But as soon as we know, you'll know. I promise!"

By "early 2016," Ginsburg means hopefully before March comes to a close. A bogus March 28 premiere date made the Internet rounds on Monday, but series creator Jason Rothenberg assured viewers that this is not correct.

"Don't worry. That's not the premiere date," Rothenberg tweeted. "My guess is it will be much earlier. But what do I know?"
