Though Justin Bieber reportedly tried to get back together with his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, she feels differently and rejected the idea of the couple reconciling at any point in the future, a friend of Gomez's told PerezHilton.com.

The former Disney star, 20, broke up with Bieber, 18, around the time of the New Year's Holiday. She attended a Golden Globes after party on Sunday, Jan. 13, with her girlfriends and no man on her arms but a friend close to Gomez revealed that both her and her family have no desire for her to get back together with Bieber.

"Selena and her mother are super close, and she doesn't want Selena held back by Justin and all this drama. Her mom always thought the relationship was troubled," a friend reportedly told the gossip website. "Selena has cut off Justin. She told him they can remain friends but she needs space for a while to get over him fully."

Bieber, on the other hand, is busy promoting the release of his upcoming album. "Believe Acoustic" will be released on Jan. 29 and Bieber tweeted on Jan. 13 cover art for the album along with the message "Ready? #newmusic - with everything going on I'm gonna tell u myself how I feel. #15 days."

Gomez attended the InStyle/Warner Bros. Golden Globes after party with her "Spring Breakers" co-star Vanessa Hudgens and friend Ashley Tisdale. However, she posed for a photograph with "The Hunger Games" star Josh Hutcherson, 20, and eyewitnesses said they saw them dancing together, with Hudgens watching all the action herself. In another photograph taken that night, Gomez and Hutcherson were spotted leaving the party together and seemingly about to hold hands.

At the party Gomez also posed for a photo with Victoria's Secret model Barbara Palvin, the woman rumored to be behind the singer's break up with Bieber. Gomez wore a gold Atelier Versace short dress while Palvin wore a long pale pink, long sleeve gown that had patch work.
