Will Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) still feel love towards Emma (Jennifer Morrison) after what went down in the latest episode of ABC's Once Upon a Time?

When Will 'Once Upon a Time' Return After Its Extended Hiatus?

Emma forced Hook to become the Dark One in the most recent installment of Once Upon a Time in order to save his life, ironically. This means that Hook will go back to being more of that ruthless pirate he was before he met Emma and the whole gang.

So now that both Emma and Hook are Dark Ones, will they still find love? According to O'Donoghue himself, they still have that capacity, no matter how dark things may get.

Will Hook Go Back To Being A 'Vengeful Pirate' On 'Once Upon a Time' This Season?

"Deep down - he's seen it with Rumple [Robert Carlyle] and Belle [Emilie de Ravin], and even with Emma and Hook - they still have the ability to love," he said in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly. "You know when you have that massive argument with your partner and you're just really pissed off with each other? Just imagine that, only you are the darkest person in the world, so imagine what that would be like. But that's not to say that he doesn't love her. They still have the ability to love, but when you get pissed off as the Dark One, that's serious business."

O'Donoghue also admitted that the plot twist of Hook becoming a Dark One was a shocking one when he first found out about it.

"It was a bit of a shock. I was excited, to be honest," he revealed. "I was excited to delve back into the darker side of Hook. That's where he was when I came on, [though] he was maybe not quite the same as the way that I play him as the Dark One. He's a little bit more - not fun, but it's nice to be able to explore that again."

As for what Hook has planned for the future as a Dark One, O'Donoghue teased that his character will embrace the Darkness while in Storybrooke. We will also soon learn more about Hook's backstory with his father and this will relate to Regina (Lana Parrilla) in some way.

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
