Captain America: Civil War will debut Bucky Barnes, version 3.0.

'Doctor Strange' Movie: Three New Filming Locations Announced, Is Marvel Coming To Your City?

From WWII POW to the Winter Soldier, the last half-century has not been kind to the bionic man. In the two-years since his Winter Soldier return, however, Buck has managed to rebuild his world - at least internally. But how many of his memories has Caps pal really managed to uncover?

"His memories are foggy," co-director Joe Russo said, according Empire. "But he has them. He's also different now. There's a part of his personality that was under mind control, and he murdered a lot of people. So he's got a very complicated history. Who is that person? How does that character move forward? He's not Bucky Barnes anymore. He's not the Winter Soldier anymore. He's something inbetween."

While Caps and Falcon find Bucky as the Civil War trailer opens, Russo was quick to echo Evan's Ant-Man mid-credit warning that this scene is not even remotely close to the beginning of the film. In other words, don't expect Mr. Barnes to be easily tracked.

"There is a story about how Cap gets to Bucky," Anthony Russo explained. "And that's fairly involved."

When the First Avenger and his wingman do conclude their search, they will not be the ones to put Bucky's bionic arm in a vice. There is a villainous force at play, and it's safe to say they probably won't be thrilled when they find their prisoner missing. Are these the same baddies that are allegedly framing the supersoldier for a new series of attacks? Viewers will have to wait and see.
