Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, a.k.a. the stars of Fox's Bones, are filing a lawsuit against the network.

Will Brennan, Booth, Cam Or Someone Else Face A 'Loss' In The 'Bones' Fall Finale?

Deschanel and Boreanaz, who play Brennan and Booth, respectively, on the long-running procedural, feel they have been "cheated" out of millions of dollars. A complaint was filed with the L.A. Superior Court this week, with the stars stating they are "each contractually entitled to a 3% share of Series profits," according to Deadline.

But after the season 5 finale in 2010, the complaint states that the stars received statements saying they were "nearly $100 million away from profits."

Why 'Bones' Midseason Finale May Be The End For 'Buck & Wanda'

Additionally, Kathleen Reichs, who wrote the series of Temperance Brennan books on which Bones is based, is suing Fox on the same grounds. Reichs is supposed to see 5 percent of the Bones profits - which she reportedly has not received.

"The documents that 20th TV did provide confirmed Plaintiffs' suspicions and showed that they were being cheated out of more than $100 million in gross revenues and being overcharged many additional millions of dollars in alleged expenses," the complaint says.

Bones will return to Fox on Thursday, Dec. 10, and it is currently unknown if this lawsuit will greatly impact the longevity of the series. This comes just a few days after Bones executive producer Barry Josephson lobbied his own lawsuit against Fox over profit participation.

The show is curiously missing from Fox's early 2016 lineup, with no information on when it will return after December.

Bones airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
