It's unclear what the future holds for Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and the other Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital staff members, but it seems as though they will have some interaction with a military doctor in the future when the hiatus is over.

The Young and the Restless actor Scott Elrod, known for playing bad guy Joe Clark, will appear in at least one episode in 2016 when the show returns with new episodes.

Do You Think Jackson & April Will Stay Together On 'Grey's Anatomy' When Show Starts Airing New Episodes Again?

The soap star shared on Instagram several days ago an image of part of the hospital, particularly its name on a window, while noting in the caption, "Great to be back on #ABC primetime, and beyond thrilled that I'm wearing a white coat!"

Elrod had a role on another ABC series that Shonda Rhimes works on earlier this year. In October he appeared in an episode of How to Get Away with Murder.

Elrod will be a surgical oncologist on Grey's Anatomy. He snapped a picture of part of himself in his white doctor's coat with his badge on.

His character's name is Will Thorpe who works for the Army.

"Playing Dr. with the @greysabc cast," he revealed in the caption.

We're definitely curious to see which Grey Sloan staffers he'll interact with.

Grey's Anatomy returns Feb. 11 on ABC at 8 p.m. ET.
