A luxury cruise singer from Massachusetts was found dead of unknown causes inside her cabin on Sunday morning.

The body of Jackie Kastrinellis, 24, was discovered on board the Regent Cruise Lines' Seas Voyager after the ship had docked in Darwin Harbour, Australia.

Police initially approached the University of Hartford graduate's cabin as a crime scene, but now think the cause of her death doesn't involve any foul play.

Kastrinellis, a Groveland, Mass. native, was said to have suffered a head injury while rehearsing on Saturday night, but was given medication for it by a doctor aboard the ship, according to Cruise Law News.

However, it could take several weeks for anything conclusive surrounding her death to show up, as Australian authorities are in the midst of conducting toxicology tests and an autopsy.

"The Crime Division is no longer treating the death as suspicious.  Further toxicology results will be analysed in due course to determine the exact cause of death,"  police detective superintendent James O'Brien said via statement that was posted on the Northern Territory Police website.

Tributes had been made to the talented lead singer, who has been performing on the cruise line since 2011.

Jean Ann Ryan, who is in charge of the firm that hires the ship's performers, told Boston that she was a "ray of sunshine, a life force and a beautiful person.  She loved performing, she was a great singer."

Lori Verderame, who worked with Kastrinellis, told the Hartford Courant that "She made a very big impression on everyone.  She won't be forgotten."

After graduation from Pentucket Regional High School in West Newbury, Kastrinellis went on to be a reporter on the student-ran TV news channel, STN2, according to the station's Facebook account.

"It is with great sadness that STN2 is able to confirm that former anchor and reporter Jackie Kastrinellis, a member of the Hartt [School at University of Hartford] Class of 2010 died over the weekend," the station said on the social networking site.

Kastinellis' family is now in Australia in order to claim her body.
