Erica Mena has fired off shots about VH1’s Love & Hip Hop New York now that she has decided not to be on the series anymore. But now newcomer Remy Ma is sharing her thoughts on Mena.

“I love, love, love, love, love Erica Mena,” she revealed to VH1 recently. “We go back…The first time I think I ever saw her was in the ‘Lean Back’ video. She was actually in the video. She’s just a diehard…She’s Team Remy all day.

Remy then said that Mena not only would visit her during her jail sentence of a little more than six years, but she sent her money at times as well.

“I think she’s one of those people that put up this wall because they’ve been through so much in their life.”

She went on to say that Mena is misunderstood.

“People feel like ‘Oh she’s so strong and she’s so focused on whatever and she’s nasty…’ But they don’t know that type of attitude is acquired. You’re not born with that.”

Even though Mena has popped off countless times on television and even coined phrases that fans still can’t get enough of today, Remy said she has never seen that side of her before.

“She actually calls me and tells me that I need to be calm… Things that people would never think thatever comes out of Erica’s mouth. She’s very, very loving. She’s a sweetheart. She’s like me. When she loves somebody, she loves them to death."
