Actor Wayne Rogers, who played Captain "Trapper" John McIntyre on the classic series M.A.S.H. died on Thursday, surrounded by family after suffering complications from pneumonia at the age of 82, his rep exclusively tells ET.

A professional actor and Broadway producer, Wayne Rogers is one of Hollywood’s most popular stars by portraying immensely affable leads in such programs as House Calls and  M*A*S*H. According to his website, he is one of those rare people who are able to do a lot of things well at the same time.

His highly hyphenated activities have included starring in top series, theatrical films and MOWs and producing such theatrical films as Once In Paris and The Gig, the award-winning HBO films Age-Old Friends and Perfect Witness and, on Broadway, many of Neil Simons' biggest hits.

Aside from his successful acting career, the M.A.S.H. actor also involved himself in other notable works, such as a regular panel member on the Fox News Channel stock investment television program Cashin' In, thanks to a hugely successful career as an investor, real estate developer, and money manager. He was also the head of Wayne Rogers & Co., a stock trading investment corporation.

According to Entertainment Tonight, prior to becoming an actor, Rogers served in the United States Navy. He also had a history degree from Princeton University. And by 2005, he received his Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The actor is survived by his wife, Amy, and his children Bill and Laura from his first marriage to actress Mitzi McWhorter. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Alexander, Daniel, William and Anais, ET wrote.
