'Supernatural' Season 11: Renewal In The Cards? CW Boss Speaks Out

The venerable hunters provided plenty of laughs (and tears) over the years, but in the end, they each proved that a hunter's life ends bloody. For one season 11 episode, however, viewers can pretend that neither a Khan worm nor Dick Roman ever laid a malicious finger on our heroes.

"[Dean and Sam] are going to be investigating an old case that was once investigated by Bobby and Rufus," executive producer Jeremy Carver told TV Line.

The episode will flashback to season 5--a perennial fan favorite.

"There's a lot of great throwbacks to things that happened [during season 5, including] the wonderful relationship between Bobby and Rufus," Carver explained. "That's going to be a really neat episode."

While Bobby (Jim Beaver) has risen from the grave multiple times to aid the Winchester bros., Rufus (Steven Williams) has only dropped by once. Fittingly enough, the Johnny Walker aficionado was the one who walked Bobby and his baseball cap through the process of dying.

In the meantime, fans can catch up with Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) when Supernatural returns to The CW on Jan. 20. Click the video below to see a preview for the spring run.
