As of episode 2, Clary (Katherine McNamara) knows that not only was Hodge (Jon Cor) in The Circle, but his punishment binds him to the nephilim's New York headquarters. Unlike in City of Bones, the old church isn't a lonely outpost. Although his home is bustling with action and bursting with tech, Hodge's devious future is no doubt still intact.

Cor dished on his story line while speaking with Talk Nerdy With Us, emphasizing the fact that he does not think Hodge is a cut and dry villain.

"Hodge came to me with a wonderfully complicated arc. He is not static, he is not to be considered in passing. We'll see some slow yet compelling shifts," Cor explained. "If anything, I wanted his every move to feel unpredictable. I want nothing more than for the audience to love him at his worst and to hate him at his best."

Shadowhunters has certainly taken some surprising twists in its first two episodes. Do you think Hodge's storyline will undergo a major shakeup, or will his plans play out just as they did in Cassandra Clare's novels?

Shadowhunters airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Freeform.

UPDATE: An earlier version of this post cited the name of the source for the interview with Jon Cor as Talk Nerdy to Me, it's actuallyTalk Nerdy With Us and has been fixed to reflect that. Our bad.
