Gather 'round, Shadowhunters, it's time for a history lesson.

'Shadowhunters' Episode 3: Will Hodge's Story Get A Major Twist? Jon Cor On 'Unpredictable' Role

The Uprising is a dark stain on the nephilim's long history, and it's a tale no one wants to tell. Magnus, however, will school Clary on her parents' pasts when Luke's life is on the line in "Of Men and Angels."

"With Luke in dire need of help, Jace, Clary and Simon take him to Magnus' lair in hopes of saving his life. Once there, the story of how Valentine came to be evil, and Jocelyn and Luke's past is revealed to Clary in hopes of triggering her memory of what happened to The Mortal Cup," Freeform said of the sixth episode. "Meanwhile, Isabelle and Alec are tasked to restore their family name in the eyes of The Clave."

'Shadowhunters' Spoilers: 'Raising Hell' Puts A Shocking New Twist On Magnus' Party, Episode 4 Plot Revealed

The Mortal Instruments adaptation won't show Idris until season 2, but that won't stop the series from introducing younger versions of Luke (Nykeem Provo), Jocelyn (Susanna Fournier), and Valentine (Owen Roth) as Magnus' story comes to life. Shadowhunter's Circle brand prevents Hodge from weaving the tale, so someone outside the deadly splinter group will get to dish out all the gory details.

"Of Men and Angels" will air on Feb. 16
