Some details have been released on The Originals/Vampire Diaries crossover episode.

Chatter On Klaus Declaring War On 'The Originals'

On Sunday, Carter Matt posted a synopsis of what's about to go down later this month when Stefan Salvatore, who might be in need to save the characters in New Orleans, shows up in the spinoff.

Klaus and Elijah will end up in a magical trap with the threat of a prophecy hanging over them. And one of them could wind up dead based on what the witches in The Strix's coven have planned. Freya tries to rescue them and gets help from Hayley, Marcel and Stefan as he comes out of The Vampire Diaries world. He just so happens to arrive in town and might be the only one who can save the brothers.

Also, Davina will pursue something pretty dangerous that might set up a reunion with Kol.

Meanwhile, executive producer Julie Plec previously spoke with TV Line on why Stefan finds his way in New Orleans.

"The crossover was born out of Stefan needing a place to escape," Plec said. "He's on the run. He needs to go somewhere where magic can't find him, and we realized he can go to New Orleans where there's that bar where magic doesn't work."

It was also revealed that Stefan and Klaus will keep things respectful despite their complicated love stories.

"Stefan's now with Caroline, and Klaus, of course, has just gone through everything he's gone through with Cami," Plec explained. "They actually have a surprisingly civil and honest conversation about love- what it means and the sacrifices that you have to make in the name of it."

The Originals airs on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
