Fox also released a synopsis for the midseason premiere, which reads as follows (via TVLine):

The episode "finds Hodgins [T.J. Thyne] eight weeks into his rehabilitation and forced to navigate life in a wheelchair. Meanwhile, Brennan [Emily Deschanel] and Booth [David Boreanaz] investigate the death of a public defender who had multiple defendants from previous cases with motives to kill her."

Hodgins' wife, Angela (Michael Conlin), will be dealing with this new life alongside him, as she spoke about in a previous interview with TVLine.

She revealed that there is "a lot of angst" for both Angela and Hodgins as they deal with his paralysis, adding, "There are different stages of adapting to a tragedy like this, and right now we're in the stage of Hodgins giving up a little bit."

Conlin also praised the writers for really delving deep into this rehabilitation story line.

"[The writers] are really honoring those depths, which we're really grateful for." Conlin said, adding she's happy to see "Angela fighting for" Hodgins, since "she always sort of has one foot out the door. But now she's like, 'I'm all in with you, I want this to work.'"
