The Atlanta Falcons may get another NFL season out of future Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez if they can fork over the right salary and give him permission to miss training camp.

Multiple team sources told Yahoo! Sports that Gonzalez, who is the second leading receiver in NFL history, may avoid retirement and come back to the Falcons for the right price.

"He will come back if they pay him $7 million and he doesn't have to do training camp. If we offer him the money, he'll most likely be back for one more. He'll most likely be looking to miss training camp though," said one source.

The 37-year-old played 16 seasons but said he was "97 percent" sure he would retire, according to USA Today. Atlanta was just shy of reaching the Super Bowl this past season after faltering to the San Francisco 49ers 28-24 in the NFC Championship.

Another source confirmed that "there's a pretty good chance that he comes back. He's been chasing that Super Bowl for a long time. If I was a betting man, I'd say he'd be on the side of trying to come back."

Last season, Gonzalez had 93 receptions along with eight touchdowns. He also made 14 catches in two postseason games.

Gonzalez had been named first-team all-pro for the sixth time in his career in 13 Pro Bowls altogether. He earned a $3.9 million base salary and $1 million roster bonus for 2012-2013. While in attendance at last month's scouting combine in Indianapolis, Falcons' general manager Thomas Dimitroff said that the superstar would be welcomed back if he decides to play a 17th season.
