A woman was arrested after a video went viral of her 22-month-old smoking pot.

Rachelle Braaten, 24, was arrested by police in Centralia, Washington last week after someone recorded her toddler son briefly smoking marijuana from a gong on their cellphone. She currently faces criminal charges for the manufacture of marijuana and delivery of a controlled substance to a minor.

Braaten reportedly told local police that it was just "a joke and a stupid mistake that wasn't really funny."

The mother-of-two tried to defend the incident as a mishap that happened during a small party.

"Well, it was like, you can't see in the camera, but (another) person taking it, and then there was like a group of people there," she tried to explain.

The young mother said her son did not act strange after the incident and behaved normally afterward.

When asked how she felt about what happened to her son, she said she felt "horrible."

"Because he's two, and he shouldn't have known about that," Braaten said. "He shouldn't have that in his body."

Her fiancé, Tyler Lee, who is the child's father, said he was unaware and wasn't around when his toddler son had smoked pot. Lee, who said he smokes the plant for medical reasons, was also arrested after he admitted that he sold marijuana to a dispensary. Local police found 40 marijuana plants in the couple's home.

Lee was jailed over the weekend after he was arrested and released on Monday. Braaten, however, is still in jail and held on $5,000 bail.

The child, whose identity is anonymous because of his age, was taken away from child protective services and placed in a foster home along with his sibling, the couple's 5-year-old child.
