The future and the past will continue to collide when Quantico returns to ABC for a second season, The Hollywood Reporter announced on Thursday. Staring Priyanka Chopra, the time-hopping drama quickly found the episodic/serial balance that eludes so many mystery-laden primetime dramas, and that unique formula will propel Alex (Chopra) and Co. into another year of carefully crafted reveals.
Currently, the series splits time between the NATs' first year at the FBI academy and the trainee's future as full-fledged agents in New York City. In the future, the hunt is on for the Grand Central bomber and FBI mole. In the past, secrets and lies are slowly unraveling to help illuminate the Bureau's main suspects.
When Quantico returns this Sunday, the NYC timeline will jump three months further into the future. Meanwhile, back at the academy, the introduction of three second-year students will serve to rile up our favorite NATs. Titled "Alex," the midseason premiere will kick off another bout of twists that will leave viewers with their jaws on the floor (see a preview below).
"It goes where you don't expect," executive producer Josh Safran teased, according to TV Line. "There are some pretty big things that are about to happen."
