Missing Josh Matthews? Don't worry, Girl Meets World planning to bring Cory's little brother back into the fold.

Actor Uriah Shelton suffered a terrible motorcycle accident last fall that left him laid up in the hospital for nearly a month. Although the 19-year-old missed out on a large portion of season 2, he's now fully recovered and ready to jump back into the world of Riley and Maya.

There is one catch, however. Josh is in line to shake things up.

"His inclusion in season 2 would have only made things more complicated and better. That will happen in season 3," series creator Michael Jacobs told The Wrap. "There will be complications. Josh will be at the center of these complications. Josh's inclusion in season 3 will really be what we wanted to do in season 2, which is nothing easy. Nothing in life that is valuable is an easy road."

As Josh leaves high school behind, he will become Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Maya's (Sabrina Carpenter) window into a whole new world.

They'll be able to look forward and Josh will show them the next step of evolution," Michaels teased. "So he's a very important character."

In the wake of "Girl Meets Legacy," the Riley/Lucas/Maya love triangle is being teased as "not a triangle." As we ponder what exactly that means, there are those fans who are still cheering on the Joshaya 'ship.

Unfortunately, as Josh has said many times, the friends were just born too far apart. Whether it's a senior in high school dating an 8th grader or a freshman in college dating a freshman in high school, the age difference is entirely untenable. Instead, it looks as if Josh will step into more of a mentor role despite Maya's apparent feelings for him.
