Their friendship was tested in ways they never could have imagined after spending a summer apart, but now that Amy (Rita Volk) is back, her and Karma (Katie Stevens) could be facing their biggest test yet on Faking It.

Amy needed to get away so she could finally deal with her unresolved-and unrequited-feelings for her best friend, but Karma didn't handle her leaving very well. And now, in a preview clip for the season 3 premiere, her resentment will begin to show after Amy confronts her at a party she's throwing-which she wasn't invited to.

"I didn't invite you because I know a bunch of strangers drinking alcohol in bathing suits is your worst nightmare," Karma says in the clip.

"Was...but now I love parties. They're my jam," Amy replies. "I've evolved this summer. Which is why I'm here."

However, the fact that she came to the party with Liam (Gregg Sulkin), and the fact that Karma never shared anything with Amy about her new boyfriend, will lead to some tension as they both begin to realize that things have definitely changed for their friendship.

However, when Amy attempts to lighten the mood, and inform Karma she no longer needs to worry about her getting jealous of guys she's with, she winds up potentially doing more damage than she could have ever imagined .

"Why didn't you mention him earlier?" Amy asks about Karma's new squeeze.

"Because I was at work," she replies. "And I knew it might bring up some feelings for you, and I wouldn't want you to have to skip town again."

"But that's the thing," Amy says. "I don't have those feelings anymore. After a summer apart, I am 100 percent over you!"

"Yay," Karma sarcastically replies.

Now it appears the tables may have turned-and things could only get more dramatic from here for Hester High's favorite non-existent couple.

Faking It season 3 premieres tonight at 10:30 p.m. on MTV.
