A trio of explosions at Zaventem Airport and Maelbeek metro station in Brussels early this morning have caused Belgium to raise its terrorism threat to its highest alert levels.

Twin explosions went off at the airport at 7:00 a.m. GMT, with the explosion at the metro station occurring one hour later. They are being considered terrorist threats.

The attacks occurred just four days after Salah Abdeslam, the main fugitive from the Paris attacks back in November, was captured in the city by authorities.

Reports are varied on the numbers dead or injured, with the BBC reporting that Belgium's health minister has claimed 11 were killed and 81 were injured at the airport, with an additional 15 dead and 55 injured, 10 seriously, in the attack at the metro station. CNN reported a total of 34 dead, with 20 killed at the metro station and 14 at the airport, and as many as 170 injured overall.

Several witnesses at the scene have posted video of the chaos immediately following the attacks, with one person sharing the evacuation of a train at the metro station just after the attacks, while another showed people fleeing from the airport after those explosions went off.

UPDATE: 10:05 A.M.: CNN reports that authorities have begun a raid to track down others responsible for the attacks, and that Belgian federal Prosecutor Frederic Van Leeuw did confirm at least one of the explosions at the airport was a suicide bombing. UPDATE 10:51 A.M.:
