Corey Simms won custody of his twin girls last year, but was Teen Mom 2 footage involved?

Throughout the past two seasons of the show, Messer has been accused of drug use, and on Twitter, amid season six, Simms explained why he and his wife, Miranda, were convinved Messer was hiding a drug problem from them in the months leading up to their court appearance.

“Idk why I’m tweeting this because I honestly do not care what people think or what they say about me but anyways there is a reason for everything that Miranda and myself have said or done,” Simms wrote last August, according to The Ashley's Reality Roundup. “We simply want the girls to grow up in a safe and healthy environment.”

“There is a lot of things that has been told to us by very close members of her family that lead us to believe the things being told are very much true,” he wrote. “If we didn’t care about the girls or the situation we would obviously not have anything to say or do about it Thank you to the people who understand and to the people that don’t well that just sucks now don’t it?”

Although a lot of questionable behavior has been seen on Teen Mom 2, Simms is unable to use any of it against Messer in court.

“Legally, Corey can’t use the footage from the show against Leah, no matter how damning,” an insider told The Ashley's Reality Roundup last year, just months before Messer lost custody of the twins. “Nothing in the show can be used in court by parties that have signed contracts. The reason is because in the contracts it says that MTV has the right to portray things however they want.”

“The contracts state that the show may not depict a whole truth,” the source continued. “So when Corey tried [to use the episodes] as evidence in court, the judge said no right off the bat.”

In other Corey Simms news, his father recently shared a new photo of his youngest daughter, Remington Monroe.
