Jon Hamm’s package, or bulge as some have described it, has caught big media attention over the past week. The “Mad Men” actor recently hit the news after reports emerged that he had to be asked to wear appropriate clothing to cover up the large bulge while filming.

The actor has now spoken about his bulge to Rolling Stone magazine, and he insisted on keeping his package private: "They're called 'privates' for a reason. I'm wearing pants, for f*** sake. Lay off. I mean it's not like I'm a f****** lead miner. There are harder jobs in the world. But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my c***, I feel like that wasn't part of the deal... But whatever. I guess it's better than being called out for the opposite."

He added: "Most of it’s tongue-in-cheek but it is a little rude. It just speaks to a broader freedom that people feel like they have – a prurience."

Hamm posed for the front page of the magazine in a shoot by Mark Seller. The 43 year old then gave an interview about his current acting roles, as well as addressing the recent publicity around his package.

Talking about his character Don Draper, he told Rolling Stone: "Don is a very complicated character, and I'm a fairly complicated individual, but that's pretty much where the similarity ends.

"I try to imbue Don with humanity that is raw and misunderstood and meaningful... it's not that I just come in and throw a suit on and act super cool.”

The AMC series, “Mad Men,” will make a return to screes on April 7, 2013.
