T-Mobile will be offering the iPhone 5 starting April 12, according to The Huffington Post.

The company will charge $100 up front and then $20 per month for two years, on top of service fees for voice, text and data that start at $50 per month. Customers can choose to leave the carrier during that time but will still have to pay installments, according to the report.

T-Mobile is currently the only major U.S. carrier not to offer the Apple smartphone. At an event held in New York on Tuesday, CEO John Legere said the company not selling the iPhone 5 "was such a huge void in our device portfolio."

He also addressed U.S. carriers AT&T, Verizon and Sprint - all of which require customers to sign contracts in order to get discounts on iPhones. Legere said to them, "Stop the bull---t."

He added that the iPhone 5 will support HSPA+ on AWS bands (1,700MHz and 2,100MHz) in addition to its LTE support, according to Engadget. The phone will also support HD Voice calling.

The Apple device has a 4.0-inch screen, 4G LTE with Retina Display and a 1136x640 resolution at 326 ppi. Its operating system is iOS 6.0 OS and it features 225 hours of standby time and up to eight hours of talk time.

Width is 2.31 inches (58.6 mm) and height is 4.87 inches (123.8 mm).

The phone has fingerprint resistant coating in front, a 8-megapixel iSight camera and an HD FaceTime camera with face detection in video and still images. The phone is fully equipped with full HD 1080 pixel video recording, weighs in at 3.95 oz and has a 1 GB RAM. Siri is included.

Those interested in getting the iPhone 5 via T-Mobile can sign up on the carrier's website to get a reminder when the phone is available. The phone can be purchased in black lined with slate, or white lined with silver.
