He has a secret reason why he doesn't like Nathan (Ryan Paevey) but the connection between the new doctor in town (and Duke's son) Griffin (Matt Cohen) could soon be revealed on General Hospital.

Griffin previously admitted to thinking Maxie (Kirsten Storms) was attractive, but tried to keep his distance from her since he knew she wasn't available, but he was floored when he walked into the Metro Court's restaurant to see her getting proposed to--by Nathan. And instead of just being upset over the scene because it meant he really would never have a chance with Maxie in the future, he seemed annoyed, upset and angry when he saw Nathan instead.

Since then, Griffin has had a visible recollection of a time in his life when he was haunted by gunshots, while Nathan has been working to keep all of the story behind his previous marriage to Claudette a big secret, something he discussed with his mother, Liesl (Kathleen Gati), who reminded him he can't be honest, or he will risk going to jail. With these clues in mind, it could reveal just what the connection is between the two men.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Griffin was shot in the past, and with the knowledge that Claudette allegedly cheated on Nathan while they were married, and it could very well be possible that Griffin was the man she cheated with. The website speculates that Nathan may have caught Griffin bedding his wife-and without seeing his face-shot him in a jealous rage.

In addition, more about Griffin's past could surface in relation to the story. Though he is a doctor now, he may not have always been so, and it's been teased he may have done some time in the priesthood as well. If he was a priest, it makes the possibility of his potential involvement with Claudette even more intriguing of a mystery.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
