Brittney Griner, the All-American center for the reigning NCAA champion Baylor Lady Bears, might be considered as a second round draft pick in the NBA.

Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, said he'd consider drafting the woman college basketball star on Tuesday night, according to ESPN. He said, ""I've thought about it. I've thought about it already. Would I do it? Right now, I'd lean toward yes, just to see if she can do it."

He added that "you never know unless you give somebody a chance." If the team doesn't draft her, he said he would like to invite her to try out for their summer league.

"She'd still have to make the team," Cuban said to ESPN. "I'm not going to carry her just to carry her. I don't think, anyways. But I certainly wouldn't be opposed to giving her the opportunity."

According to Ball Don't Lie, WNBA's Phoenix Mercury have the first round draft pick this month and might select Griner.

Griner is 6-foot-8 and has been named an All-American three times. She was also Big 12 player of the year and scored 3,283 points in her career. The Lady Bears lost in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament to Louisville on Sunday.

She tweeted on Tuesday, "I would hold my own! Lets do it."

Another woman basketball player has tried out for an NBA team in 1979. Ann Meyer, who played for UCLA, tried out for the Indiana Pacers.
