Americans who love McDonald's are used to the compoany's golden french fries. The dependable crispy thin sticks of fried potatoes covered in salt are a staple with every meal ordered there.

But how do French people feel about them? BuzzFeed decided to find out by giving some people from France the opportunity to try the food (which originated in Belgium) and compare it to fries they've had at McDonalds in other countries.

Some liked them enough and said they were okay--but others? Well, they weren't overly impressed.
