One of Harry Styles' ex-girlfriends is hoping to be a performer on The Voice and launch a singing career from the reality competition perhaps just like the One Direction singer did.

Katie Smith had a relationship with Styles when the two of them were battling it out in the early rounds of The X Factor U.K. in 2010, according to The Sun. They first got together at the book camp stage of the talent competition and saw each other for a few weeks. Things ended when Smith failed to make it to the live finals, while Styles and four other competitors on the show got together to form the boy band One Direction.

"Katie can claim to have had Harry's eye before he was famous. He was smitten with her for ages and they used to flirt all the time on the show," a source told the publication. "The Xtra Factor even picked up on it and arranged a date for them. It was a puppy love thing but was destined to end abruptly as she didn't make it to the live shows."

"Who knows, maybe he will watch the show on Saturday and feel an urge to give her a call," the source added.

Smith has since moved on from the pop singer and appears on the BBC1 series with her boyfriend, also named Harry. The show's judges are Jessie J, Tom Jones, Danny O'Donoghue and Will.i.am. The couple perform in the auditions the track Candy by Paolo Nutini, hoping to get one of the judges to turn their chairs.

Smith's new boyfriend may be named Harry Jones if a YouTube video is correct. She posted a video in June 2011 of her and Jones performing a cover to the song Billionaire and her Youtube channel features additional videos with Jones, one of which is shown below.

One Direction's Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Styles and Louis Tomlinson were discovered by Simon Cowell on the U.K.'s The X Factor in 2010. Fans will be able to see them on the big screen soon in a new documentary titled This Is Us, a 3D movie set to release in summer 2013.
