Legends of Tomorrow's Leonard Snart has cemented his place in the history books as a bona fide hero. From run of the mill criminal to Captain Cold to Legend, Snart has seen it all...but he's not done yet.

Wentworth Miller's character met his demise in Legends of Tomorrow's penultimate episode, sacrificing himself to derail the shocking Time Master/Vandal Savage alliance. Thanks to the nature of time travel, however, Mr. Snart's story is far from over.

That's right; Captain Cold won't have a permanent spot on the Waverider in season 2, but, according to Deadline, the rogue (can we still call him that?) will continue to crop up across the DC TV universe. Instead of signing a series regular with one series, Miller will become the first actor to become a Berlanti-verse regular.

"[Captain Cold] won't be part of the team of Legends on board of The Waverider next year, he will have a very active role on the show," executive producer Greg Berlanti explained. "[Miller has] the first contract not applicable to just one show. In success we hope to continue with other characters finding their way across all the shows."

For fans of The Flash villain, this is the best new possible. Snart earned a special place in viewers' hearts back in season 1, and the snarky thief only engendered himself further as he combine his criminal instincts with his burgeoning conscience.

Snart's death does raise one question, however. When we see him next, will writers have to turn back the clock on his character development? At least we have the chance to find out, right?

Next time on Legends of Tomorrow, the surviving members of Rip's (Arthur Darvill) crew will have to decide if their willing to risk it all in "Legendary" (see a preview below).

"fter the numerous sacrifices the team has made since the beginning of this ride, Rip decides that it's time they each decide their own destiny and returns them to Central City a few months after they first left. Returned to their normal lives, each team member must individually decide if they are willing to sacrifice everything in order to save the world," The CW teased. "Meanwhile, Sara (Caity Lotz) visits with her father (guest star Paul Blackthorne) who delivers some heartbreaking news about her sister."
