Amy Brenneman can't say much about the final season of HBO's The Leftovers, but suffice to say, she's incredibly excited about it.

Brenneman, who plays Laurie on the cult favorite series, sat down for a chat with GoldDerby recently and teased what fans can expect from the third (and final) season. The actress did not reveal any details, but she spoke about a chat she had with series co-creator Damon Lindelof, indicating that this series is about to end with a bang.

"I'm sitting there with Damon and an hour later I was just saying, 'f---, that is so good! It's just so good!'" Brenneman recalled. "F---, it is so good! That is all I will say."

She further expanded on how knowing that this upcoming third season will be the last one is actually beneficial.

"There's a freedom that showrunners have when they know it's the end and when they have control over the end because you don't always have that in television, often you don't," she said.

Brenneman has a strong working relationship with Lindelof. The actress recalled working together early in pre-production to create the character of Laurie.

"One of the absolute pleasures of my artistic life was the day of the first read-through. That afternoon, Damon said let's go for a walk and so we walked around Central Park for a couple of hours, and we dreamed up Laurie," she said. "We just dreamed her right up. And that included her backstory. We just made her up."

Things ended on somewhat of a happy note for Laurie at the end of season 2. After all the chaos in Miracle, Laurie ultimately sought comfort in her family and friends. The season ultimately ended with Kevin (Justin Theroux) coming home to Laurie, Nora (Carrie Coon), Jill (Margaret Qualley) and others, concluding with a feeling that even in this messed up world, they have each other.

Reports now say that the third season will take place in Australia, a far cry from Texas, so there's no telling how this thing is going to end.

The Leftovers season 3 does not yet have a set premiere date on HBO.
