The Making a Murderer filmmakers are ready to continue filming developments in the Steven Avery case again should the occasion arise.

Millions of Netflix users have become enraptured by docuseries Making a Murderer, which tells the tragic story of Avery and his multiple convictions. Avery remains in prison to this day for the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach, as does his nephew, Brendan Dassey, but attorneys haven't given up on proving their respective innocence.

Making a Murderer filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos are not giving up on the case, either. The series creatures spoke with ABC News recently about whether they would continue filming the story of Avery and Dassey in a future season.

"With respect to this story, Steven has ongoing efforts to try to overturn his conviction, Brendan Dassey certainly does, so we will cast a very wide net again, should we have the opportunity," Demos said.

Demos also said that she is hoping to get "people from all sides once again," and assuming the case to prove Avery and Dassey's innocence moves forward, "hopefully people will choose to participate and help us continue to follow the story."

Ricciardi added that the Avery and Dassey story is one of a several projects they are looking at for their next endeavor.

"We are looking at several projects, but one of them is future episodes of this same story," Ricciardi added.

She also noted that their intention was never to have any impact on the case itself as they were filming.

"We never intended to have an impact on the cases themselves. We were there to witness and to document and share...it was for us, holding a mirror up to the system and holding a mirror up to us as people now," Ricciardi said. "How do we treat people who are specially disadvantaged or vulnerable, or different than ourselves? Do we demand justice for everyone?"

There has been no announcement regarding a possible second season of Making a Murderer.

Making a Murderer is currently available to stream on Netflix.
