Carmen Electra opened up on one of the most shocking deaths in the entertainment industry this year.

The model and actress had a tight connection with late singer Prince back in the day as she was getting her start in the business. So clearly it was a jab in the heart upon finding out that he died. A month has passed and Electra has remained quiet about the singer's passing with the media until now.

On Monday, Access Hollywood posted a brief interview with Electra as she attended the premiere for the new Disney flick Alice Through the Looking Glass. When she was asked what it was like find out that Prince died, she said it was just so sudden.

"I was very confused when I heard about Prince's death. I mean, it just happened out of nowhere and the whole world was grieving, not only his friends and family, but the entire world," she said. "And I was in a hotel room at the time and I was watching CNN, and it was just 'Prince, Prince, Prince,' and it was really devastating."

Electra added how she hopes people will be understanding on what Prince was dealing with before his death and see him in the best way possible.

"I just hope that people understand what pain is and obviously he had major physical pain and we'll respect that about him and not look at him in a different way because of how things happened," Electra said. "I just hope people have compassion."

The celeb then revealed how it felt when she met him as well as his traits that she loved.

"There were so many. He was very funny, he had such a great sense of humor, he would always make you laugh," she said. "The first time I met him I was just in shock. I was fresh from Cincinnati, Ohio and I ended up meeting Prince and auditioning for a band that he was producing and that was crazy. I had to pinch myself, I couldn't believe it."
