It's true what they say--18th century or 21st, marriage really does put a damper on your sex life. Outlander's Claire and Jamie are experiencing a bit of a dry spell, but the cool air of Scotland will breath new life into their relationship.

Last year, Ron Moore's interpretation of Outlander's most intimate scenes pushed TV sex in a whole new direction. Focused on bringing realism to a topic so often plagued by overused tropes, the Starz series quickly struck a note with viewers.

Those looking to see Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) further their relationship with a little time between the sheets have found season 2 lacking. While the pair has an active sex life in Diana Gabaldon's novels, Moore and Co. are waiting for a specific catalyst to relight that spark.

"Why are we going to do this? What's the story reason? What's the character reason?" Moore told Variety. "It's not just about getting to see them naked again, because we've seen them naked, and they're hot. We get it."

Between Jamie's run in with Black Jack and Claire's miscarriage, Outlander may have found the moment fans have been waiting for. As out heroes return to Scotland, it might be time for the Frasers to turn their attention away from politics and back to their relationship.

Executive producer Maril Davis tackled the question on Twitter earlier this week, promising that a trip behind closed doors is in the near future.

It’s really a forgone conclusion, after all. The season premiere revealed Claire’s second pregnancy, and, as Claire tells Frank (Tobias Menzies), her heart and her baby belong to Jamie.
It takes just one look at Brianna’s flaming locks to see she’s sporting some recessive genes, and you know she snagged that allele from dear old dad.
