It seems like the third season of The Affair will have a bit more mind play.

On Thursday, Los Angeles Times managed to get some details from actress Maura Tierney who plays Helen on the series. Since the show started off with perspectives from the two leading characters and then expanded to two supporting characters, the third season might expand even further to other members of the series.

"It's going to be back and forth a little bit more next season," Tierney said.

The actress also backtracked on a comment earlier this year when she mentioned that an "exciting" change would take place in the structure of the show. But it doesn't sound like that's part of the plan-- at least not for now.

"That is not going to happen this season," Tierney said. "If we come back for a fourth, it might be implemented then. But I think they just decided to go a different way. This way is good too. I don't know that much. It was just going to be fun...it might still happen, so I don't want to say."

The second season finished with Noah taking the fall for Scotty's death despite the fact that it was his two lovers who were involved more than he was; Alison is the one who pushed him into the road while Helen was the one driving the car that ran into him.

Colin Donnell, who plays Scotty on the series, previously dished to Digital Spy about his character and if he'll be back at all.

"I haven't had any discussions, but they do certainly play with time a bit over there," Donnell said. "As far as I know right now, Scotty is very much dead...and I think the car crash was pretty good evidence of that!"

The Affair Season 3 premieres on Sunday, November 20 at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
